Aurora Store is way too unreliable and is nearly unusable. I have been using APKMirror so far and while it is okay, it is somewhat annoying that Obtainium can not directly download from there whereas it can with APKPure. I wanted to know the security level of APKPure in comparison to APKMirror.
There is a workaround for the rate limiting:
Open the app settings for Aurora Store, go to the Open by default settings and add the supported links.
(If Google Play is on your phone you may need to go remove the supported links in its settings)
Use your browsers to search
play.google.com
for the app you want. From the app page use the Share to app function and it should open it in Aurora Store. This is what I do sometimes. But, for the past 3 weeks Aurora Store has been behaving…
Still doesn’t work for app updates. I can’t even connect to Aurora most of the time. Maybe it is a ProtonVPN issue.
I had to just make a new burner google account for Aurora. The rate limiting on the anonymous account seems to always be hit when I try to use it.
I would love to but you can’t even make a Google account anymore without giving out your phone number
One trick is to have anold android phone. I created a couple of accounts last year without giving any personal data by using a device with android kitkat.
NO.
they plant ads in their apks. Dont use it for network enabled apps (if you have a safe firewall or network permission)
Any sources? How would they manage to do that for propriety apps that they can not build themselves nor sign? All the applications that I installed through APKMirror have gotten updated perfectly fine through APKPure
I am actually not sure. I guess it was just the app devs integrating even more spam to squeeze some cents out of their old app
