I wish lemmy would allow for bigger images.

My setup:

  • VPS: Wireguard and ngnix proxy

  • Nanopi: Friendlywrt for the firewall

  • Dell precision tower 3620: proxmox with lxc containers running caddy and WordPress. I also have a VM running docker which runs some services, truenas for storage and a Linux mint VM for gaming, machine learning and jellyfin in podman. The machine has a 590 and a standard power supply. I had to cut off some of the housing in the case and on the GPU to make it fit.

  • Beelink mini PC: It also runs proxmox and has my VM endpoint for wireguard with another ngnix proxy. It also runs a VM with docker for some other services

  • Raspberry pi 3: i2p for fun

    How it started.

    How it’s going.

Note: The last Pic is when I installed my 10gb switch, but I was still waiting for my DAC cables to arrive. All my servers are using 10gb at this point. Also, I should note that the cable management isn’t great… I’m in the process of moving to mikrotik switches. So I have a few misc cables that are out of place currently as I’m migrating/testing things.

Nice, thanks for sharing! Mine looks like this atm:

    • HS: Mainly Docker containers and VMs
    • VPS: Wireguard to relay traffic (NAT) to the HS (SSL termination on HS)
    • UPS in case of power outage
    • Pi4 for backups within the local network. It also has a disk station for regular air gapped backup.
    • Pi3 for off site backup
    • Fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergency ^^

In my basement, next to the Ethernet patch panel… OpenMediaVault on an old HP ProDesk G3 with lots of Docker containers.

Just a 6TB WD Red+ HDD in the HP, backing up daily to a matching 6TB in an external USB HDD enclosure.

Random network switches lighting up most of the CAT6 ports around the house. My Google Nest router & T-Mobile 5G internet gateway are upstairs.

    Y’all have fancy labs.

All I have is a HP dl380 Gen8 sitting sideways between my desk and my wife’s desk. Its use is now eveng for ccnp studies.

Same! (Although mine might be a G7, forget). What specs are you running in there? Mine has become grossly underpowered for basically anything compared to the electricity it uses, so I haven’t turned it on in ages.

        2x Xeon E5-2650 8x 16Gb ram (128 total) 2x 600GB 10K SAS

Thinking of upping the CPU and getting more drives though.

My wife calls it the noise machine for obvious reasons during booting.

VPN and QoS out of the box have been nice. Haven’t spent much time on it but couldn’t figure out prioritization. (eg use Hotel Wifi and fail over to USB cellphone - but I also think channel bonding was more what I was after.)

I’m currently eyeballing a mini PC to run Speedify on to get a more redundant connection and have that connected to the router.

I would also like 5ghz as I sometimes like to Steam connect to my PC. But I can probably live without it.
