        Cryptocurrency proponents are quick to remind me that cryptocurrency transactions are not anonymous, and are in fact highly traceable by virtue of being stored in a public ledger.

        Meaning, they try to mislead you into donating more than you intend to? Doesn’t that make them crooks, unworthy of your donations?

          There are crypto currencies like Monero. Even with Bitcoin at least you aren’t posting your card details online.

          Meaning, they try to mislead you into donating more than you intend to? Doesn’t that make them crooks, unworthy of your donations?

          Not necessarily. A lot of the time they are projects hurting for donations. You can always opt out or use a temporary email service.

          An example is HaikuOS. I like supporting alternative operating systems but I wouldn’t want to sign up for Libreapay.
