Could be obscure hobby related or a useful underrated site.
Jeg ville ønske, det var fredag 😩
Det er det i dag 😄
Det manglede da også bare! Jeg har gået og ventet på fredag siden søndag!
Very niche here, but worth a look if you’re in the market for rechargeable batteries:
Crazy detailed benchmarks and technical analysis of flashlights, batteries, and chargers.
Now thats niche!
The site that comes to mind is Ian’s Shoelace Website. The ultimate guide about shoelaces. The most impactful/important thing for me was Ian’s Knot, the fastest and most correct way to tie a shoe. I discovered this website in the mid-2000s and have been using his method since. Anyway, it’s a fun and comprehensive website about shoelaces. https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/ianknot.htm
Well im definetely checking this while i sing a g l e t AGLET
My go to etymology website.
This is the website I never knew I needed
Fun fact: noone knows the etymology of ‘dog’.
Ha! I’ve got a shortcut for that on my phone’s main page.
Saaaame, like every other day I hear a word and start guessing where it must’ve come from and then have to go check. Today it was cashmere (from Kashmir) got it right!
Ps if you’re into this kinda thing check out the podcast lingthusiasm.
OMG I thought I was alone! Have you tried the “Words for Granted” podcast?
Yessss thats another great one! Ray Belli is a good host.
Super cool thanks for posting this
Any new philosophy or philosophy adjacent idea I discover and want a beginners level understanding over. Incredible stuff here.
https://theanarchistlibrary.org/
The name explains it.
Pair it with sci-hub so you can actually read the whole articles and not just abstracts.
I was sticking with the ‘one website’. Thanks for adding my second post. ;-)
Here’s another: https://libgen.is/ - Library Genesis
Anna’s Archive does it for me. It’s so good!
That’s definitely https://noclip.website/
I love retro video games (and current games). And some badass implemented the rendering of several games and consoles in JavaScript just for fun, so that you can explore levels from many games right in your browser.
Note that I did say explore, not play. This website let’s you fly the camera through the level like with a “no clip cheat” (hence the site name).
It somewhat works on mobile devices in landscape mode (and maybe also “show desktop page”), but is best viewed and controlled on a PC.

I love a good weblog with all kinds of link rabbit holes to fall down.
Also you can ring the fish doorbell and help release the fish: https://visdeurbel.nl/?fbclid=IwAR05zJk-mJiBIx5zq88S78E559cYHV-kkHOSM21MW1XX_e3jaqBfdTN-z30
Omg! The fish doorbell just made my day, thank you
Isn’t that marvelous? I can’t wait for spring.
Thank you for this, it fills a hole that I have been missing on the internet for a long time
I hope it’s the fish doorbell you mean !
Ninite.com. Download the latest installers for basically all the free software you install on a new machine.
Tells what week it is.
I don’t know if it fits, but congrats, you’ve just reached the end of the internet. There’s nothing more to see.
Damn, it’s been like what, 15 years or so, since I last visited that page.
I’m not down voting you because I disagree with your pick, but because this answer needs to be at the very bottom of the thread.
He’s been running the site since 95. I’ve been visiting since 96 or 97. I even provided the hardcopy for the Big Lebowski shooting script which he posted a few months before the movie premiered.
My god I havent been here in a decade or more, what a dedicated fellow!
Niche hobby website from the 90s that’s both really useful and still updated (somewhat) - the Parker pen penography. Look at all those pens! Genuinely the most useful source of info on the topic of old Parkers that isn’t a big hefty coffee table book. Most of it probably isn’t too interesting to non-fountain pen people, but there’s some articles about the history of Parker and their decline that might be interesting if you like economics and buisness (like the one about the Itala
Incredibly niche! And funnily enough one Ive been on before.
