I feel like 75% of Mastodon are people talking about Linux. If you don’t care about Linux you feel alienated. I enjoy Mastodon and Lemmy, but the lack of more diverse subjects gets to me if I browse for too long.
Update: I took your advice and purchased a laptop for Linux, and now I care about it! Problem solved.
I feel the same way about politics
Especially the politics on here. I’ve seen some wild takes going completely unquestioned.
If by here you mean lemmy.ml, the first lemmy server, you are certainty correct. Lemmy was originally authored by Marxists-Leninists to counter right-wing reddit. Or even more extreme lemmygrad.ml which I believe was the second Lemmy server, established by Stalinist kicked off of lemmy.ml for being too authoritarian.
Oh I just realized why it’s called lemmygrad, they’re trying to say they graduated from lemmy.ml, how did I not realize that sooner?
No, I think it’s a play on Leningrad, the former name of St.Petersburg, Russia in the soviet union.
