“Sorry we don’t live our lives for the opportunity to destroy ourselves for senpai company owner like you.”
My supervisor doesn’t know how to maintain what I build, despite me attempting to show her. At this point, we openly pity each other, her because I have no desire to do more than what my job entails, take the paycheck, and leave to go live my life, and I because she proudly has no life to go home to because she spends 12 hours a day plus here acting like Jesus on the cross for the greedy, indifferent owner.

In My Place in my ass
Why does it always need to be about best or most popular?
Maybe this tastes good in its own way, hits the spot in its own way, and that doesn’t diminish Indian/Thai/etc curry in any way.
Then again, I do favor Thai curry over Indian curry, which I’ve been told makes me a monster no one should listen to…
I agree, this is just leftover momentum.
Reaganomics was a bullet to this nation’s brain stem. Citizens United was just the capitalists pissing on the long dead corpse for fun.
This place is just the command center for multinational oligarchs to wage war on the rest of humanity to increase short term profit expectations.
What an odd change.
This makes so much more sense.
It got us to the moon.
Then we decided to sell off our society for private profit under the lie that we’d all benefit.
Biggest reason this country has gotten this cartoonishly shitty, why our commons like bridges are literally collapsing.
Public research was slower and more considered, as it didn’t have the very unscientific sole goal of “how do we monetize this half-baked discovery NOW?!” with no other consideration let alone to societal consequences, but publically funded research yielded social benefits we all reaped through the commons. Reckless growth/metastasis for private profit is giving us technologies that make us miserable and that only truly benefit private shareholders at our expense. Plus you know, the whole reverse terraforming our only world against us, again for short term private profit.
So should a lot of research, for public benefit. Medical absolutely, space absolutely.
The problem with that model is no one acquires immoral levels of wealth, which means those that set policy don’t get as large of bribes.
And as a species, our actions have spoken on no uncertain terms, we’d literally rather destroy our only habitat and ourselves then let go of the dream of living like modern Pharoahs on the backs of others.
A frightening liminal space between states of being. Not quite dead, not quite alive!
“I will make it legal”
-Capitalists since before Reagan, but especially and most successfully during and after Reagan.
They’ve literally made political bribery as legal as apple pie assault rifles, you think some consumer protection laws will stand in the way of their greed?
Justice would be them dying and the many societies people like them destroyed for self-enrichment that lived in equilibrium with nature, like the Native Americans, thriving again.
I agree with you. Justice isn’t on the table.
Be excellent to eachother, dolphin or kangaroo people!
Humans aren’t saying that, our habitat is in response to our actions, as translated by scientist’s measurements.
We can stop. We should stop. We won’t stop.
If that means you want to call our planet an eco-terrorist, that’s actually kind of funny. This isn’t about humans killing humans. This is about Humans attacking our only habitat as we rely on it for every breath we take and every bite we take, and our habitat responding predictably to our actions.
Eco-fascism would be putting a gun against people’s head and telling them to stop destroying our only habitat.
Acknowledging we’re destroying our only habitat isn’t eco-fascism, it’s just acceptance of the situation.
It’s not about justice. It’s about homeostasis. The guy and possibly his kids will be fine in their luxury climate bunkers as the world grows more bleak and they bark orders remotely until there’s no one left alive or dumb enough to keep listening.
The thing is though, what we’ve done and are doing right now will take millions of years to heal. Nothing to Earth’s 3.8 billion year old story of life, but effectively eternity to our monkey brains. I just don’t see our species putting down our shovel and living within our ecological means when that would mean necessary decline in our quality of life and intentional population control over time. We were warned for a century. We are feeling the effects. Scientists are noting new runaway effects conservative estimates didn’t account for. We need to stop 30 years ago, and we won’t even stop today.
I don’t consider it justice, I consider it wholesale refusal as a species to live within our ecological means. We just keep digging, and the consequences, the physics, don’t care why.
I don’t think there’s a specific one yet, though insults towards such people abound.
Its certainly an extention of misanthropy though.
Capitalism: “Growth or die!”
Earth: I mean… If that’s how it’s gotta be, you little assholes🤷👋🔥
It’s kind of gallows hilarious that for all the world’s religions worshipping ridiculous campfire ghost stories, we have a creator, we have a remarkable macro-organism mother consisting of millions of species, her story of hosting life going back 3.8 billion years, most living in homeostasis with their ecosystem.
But to our actual, not fucking ridiculous works of lazy fiction creator, Earth, we literally choose to treat her like our property to loot, rape, and pillage thoughtlessly, and continue to act as a cancer upon her eyes wide open. We as a species are so fucking weird, and not the good kind.

Americans who got lucky in life have a bad habit of shrugging off the majority that didn’t as somehow irresponsible and not worth considering.
My cousin does this. Looks at you like you’re speaking a foreign language when you say you can’t afford something that would make your life easier like replacing a malfunctioning appliance right now.
Privilege is a bubble of willful ignorance akin to the Republican bubble.
