Not the other commenter but the meme infers USSR was better, and infers people knew what was to happen afterwards. Russia was making progress a little bit before Putin. I constantly think about what if I wasn’t adopted. I’ll probably be dead, forced to fight on the wrong side of war in Ukrainian. Then again idk what the USSR would be if it never fallen, completely blocking foreigners from adopting their orphans.

It’s the radical moderators and developers of Lemmy that censor and delete posts and comments that fit their narrative. They are trying to foster authoritarian views and perpetuating lies (like tiananmen square didn’t happen, or Ukraine invaded russia). It’s a big mess that causes problems when people voice opposing views or even sourced material and get censored and banned. Using Lemmy feels like we have to accept their cooked views. I’m hoping there will be a fork or new federation project that doesn’t have baggage. Many moved here because of the reddit bs, and now there is extreme communism baggage.

Sad to see. Feels like Lemmy has no bright future with people in charge of it thinking russia’s and China’s government is good and ban difference of thoughts, opinions, and beliefs.

I would love most of these to be implemented. But I wouldn’t want the Senate to be merged because of separation of powers. Better to have a mandatory retirement age or term length for all politicians.

Also, I would like every law that has been and will be enacted by the Senate, that only affects the Senate and other positions of power, to be voted by the people in a popular vote. This way corruption by conflict of interest wouldn’t happen so blatantly like it has in the past.
