2·21 days agoI said EU, not UK. But it turns out they ARE licensed in the UK as well.
Revolut should be watching for suspicious transactions and blocking them like proper banks are required to do.
There’s nothing in the article to indicate this isn’t already the case. No suspicious activity algorithm will be foolproof. Also, revolut is certified as an actual bank in the EU, and subject to the standard bank regulations.
All I’m reading in this article is stupid people who don’t follow basic security practices. Why is any of this Revolut’s fault?

3·1 month agoHow is it fanciful? It’s taking a bunch of solid, proven technologies and putting them in the same place. It’s nothing more than a standard engineering project.

You do understand that the fediverse is not a single thing? Moderation on the fediverse is a meaningless term because it varies hugely depending which part of the fediverse you are visiting.

By the same logic however, mods would have no power to actually moderate. Their moderation ability is directly proportional to their potential for abuse. And I think we can all agree we’ve long passed the point where communities are able to survive without moderation, at least in their current form (which is what OP is discussing).
