I don’t doubt anything you said, except for the last paragraph.
Ken Bone did an AMA on the same account that he commented on porn subs with - that was not a result of surveillance programs.
Self hoster here, im nuking all of pictrs. People are sick. Luckily I did not see anything, however I was subscribed to the community.
sudo find /srv/lemmy/example.com/volumes/pictrs -type f -exec shred {} \;
Removed the pictrs config in lemmy.hjson
removed pictrs container from docker compose
Anything else I should to protect my instance, besides shutting down completely?
Literal strawman… Just because you don’t like another instance’s politics doesn’t mean you can just accuse them of posting CSAM. Wtf? Honestly disgusting & chilling. This is the tactic that the far right uses, “anyone who I don’t like is a groomer”.
Like I’m not getting ahead no matter how hard I try
They don’t want to at all but I’ve chained them to the desk and propped their eyes open clockwork orange style. They have no choice but to watch me remove Windows
No, I’m putting a gun to their head and they will use Linux. /s
I have gotten a few comments like these, not sure why some of you are getting the idea that this is a forced switch lol
Your memes are cancer.
If you’re American, this may be why. 54% of US adults read below a 6th grade level.

You are seeing the effect of America’s deeply rooted culture of anti-intellectualism and the decades-long Republican crusade to gut the public schooling system.
Hexbear is a leftist instance. People interpret any criticism of Democrats as coming from the right instead of the left.
Also, Hexbear refers to both Dems and Republicans as liberals. In the US, “liberal” usually only refers to social liberalism. The definition of liberalism elsewhere in the world includes liberal conservatism.
I wonder what actual Chinese people think, anyone originally from China able to weigh in?
Bingo!
They wanted to give it a try so win-win for both of us if they end up liking it.
Awesome, thanks for this! Looks promising, I’ll check it out.
Oops, thank you for the heads up!
Why not just try to get it to run on your machine?
I wanted to gauge the level of effort involved first. I easily can sink hours into tinkering something and getting it to eventually work but sometimes it isn’t worth it.
That’s a good and sadly realistic point.
I read a forum post back in the day about a guy that forced his wife and kids to use FreeBSD and they hated it. It was pretty funny but I also don’t want to be that guy
Makes sense. I don’t know why, but I somehow read the original comment to mean that Americans were randomly dead on the side of the road, sans car. Lol
Why are they dying on the roads?
I’ve always been envious of people with great social skills. I could accomplish a lot more if I had them. The glasses for sure.
