Japan and South Korea need to get to fucking or they need to become more open and attractive to immigration to stave off population shortfalls. There’s shitloads of south and central Americans looking for stable nations to call home, same with Africans, Middle Easterners, and south Asians, these folks are willing to serve in their militaries, contribute to their economies, and they bring fresh blood and ideas to cultures and industries. There’s also a whole lot of other westerners who are super into Asia in general but especially Japan and would move there in a heartbeat for the right incentives.
How about meeting with the Mexican president to plead for action, since he’s either too scared to take on the cartels, or too corrupt.

The main strategy has been to try to strangle Russia economically and isolate them to wear down the populace and hopefully force either a retreat or a change in leadership, all while providing Ukraine with what they needed to halt Russia’s advances. However, thanks to the MAGA/Putin alliance they have successfully stalled our resupply efforts to Ukraine, thus giving Putin more time to keep pushing and costing Ukraine lives that they can’t waste while fighting a numerically superior opponent.
So ultimately Trump’s lunatics are who aren’t afraid of winning, they don’t want Ukraine to win, because Trump is Putin’s cock holster and they are Trump’s cult who follow his signals for everything and anything. There’s no fear of winning, only betrayal and treasons prolonging the problem.

Sure but firstly this hits a bit different when Russia, China, SA, and their buddies have an abhorrent record of human rights abuses in the modern era, the US has historically been bad, but no worse than their peers. So to avoid getting into whataboutism sure the US protects their interests, but outside of when someone like Trump and the MAGAs controls, the US generally sides with human rights, religious freedom, and equal rights, things may not always work out how we hoped they would but at least we’re trying to help stabilize the world.
The main point you should understand is that this isn’t a Russia, China, US, SA, Israel, whatever, problem, this is a Far Right vs everyone else problem. The Far Right is nationalism, monarchies, tyranny, fascism, religious fundamentalism, we see leaders like Netanyahu, Putin, Trump, Erdogan, Modi, Xi, Orban, Khomeini, the SA Qatari and UAE rulers, and others all coordinating with the same people, outlawing the same things, they breed corruption, and their interests aren’t legitimate because they operate as kings/mafia bosses, these are the people making minorities unsafe, through demonization and persecution, they threaten freedom of speech mostly because they don’t want to be exposed and be criticized, and they all have a “religion” they want to force on us, religion is in quotations because China and Xi force communism as a religion sure it’s under the guise of atheism but to them Mao was Jesus and the teachings of communism is their Bible.
To go further into it, you can trace the money supporting the worst people in the world back to a few Western billionaires, their Eastern counterparts, and a few specific countries, like Russia, Iran, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Israel. Just look at how China, Qatar, and the Saudis have financially backed Elon Musk, Trump, and many similar people.
Obviously I’m not trying to say leftists and centrists are blameless in all of this, but overtly they are generally not helping actual dictators, they aren’t trying to help the rich get richer and more powerful, and they’re trying to support minorities, workers rights, human rights, and so on.

Also the US has been largely hands off with Haiti for the last twenty years, the US/Haiti relationship is almost as complicated as Israel and Palestine, especially when Haitians make up such a large demographic in the US. Ever since Obama’s administration and the Red Cross scandal US policy towards Haiti has mostly been hands off, which Trump’s administration took drastically further, since Trump’s foreign policy is extremely isolationist, plus all of Trump’s racist and classist bullshit.
The only Americans causing problems down there rn are criminal gun runners who are working with the criminal element of Haiti, namely Barbecue’s people, to take over the country, illegally and absolutely not democratic. Those criminal Americans should be arrested and tried ASAP.

It all comes down to that risk/reward calculation, for folks like us there’s too much risk and not enough reward, especially if we maintain our sense of ethics and morality, but for those who are okay with being corrupt scumbags there’s far more reward than risk, and to be fair, those people are the types that generally don’t pay attention to the risks in any scenario.
Sure one can say a healthy progressive country should be reward enough, but regardless of how selfless we may think we are we as a species always operates from a self-centered perspective, and ultimately it still comes down to “what’s in it for me”, but this is why devoted anti-corruption folks like Bernie Sanders are the real MVPs, because they’ve managed to push that self-centeredness into the back of their minds in order to work for the betterment of the rest of us while eschewing the rewards, and these people should be praised and protected.
While “What we need is for people like me to be in office” smacks of the “I alone can fix it” fallacy, I tend to share exactly the same sentiments. I definitely think I’m impartial enough to represent all of my would be constituents. However it’s such a hassle to get involved, just the scrutinization alone is what keeps me away. My wife is a paranoid schizophrenic military rape victim, and running for public office would just make her life so much more unbearable, and I definitely wouldn’t want to do that to her. Also as a pot smoker I’m already disinclined to expose my privacy, because not only will I be judged for my harmless vice, but also judged for my moral character based on my vice, and I’d be legally exposed if I’ve left my enemies a way to get around the protection of my medical marijuana license.
I also realize saying all of this is kinda weird since the Right wingers have straight up pedos, rapists, fraudsters, and all kinds of white collar criminals running for office while seemingly flaunting their crimes like it’s a positive part of their resume, because their end goal is a lawless America, but only for the white right people.
