I’m sure this guy operated his bulldozer with all of the due care and concern for innocent human life as the IDF bombing campaign that by their own reports have killed twice as many civilians as militants.

Both major parties and most US citizens absolutely condone this shit.

Having two different realities is not good. I’m not sure what is to be done about it though. Some people will always choose to believe the easy lie over the difficult truth.

Ignoring Fox and the crazies for a moment, how often have mainstream networks given equal time to climate change deniers and actual scientists, pretending there was a debate where there wasn’t one.

I want to push back a little on “we all agreed on what was and what was not reality.” When there were three TV stations, did any of them highlight police brutality? Overincarceration? The military industrial complex? Anything that would hurt their sponsor’s bottom lines?

The news networks we have today are all owned by large media conglomerates. They range from pro-corporate to pro-fascist. I’m glad that there are enough independent voices that we can hear from people who don’t profit off of the status quo. It’s unfortunate that right wing media is so prevalent and well funded, but if there is an answer to that, it’s not going back to the days when Walter Cronkite, CBS, and Gulf+Western would tell us “That’s the way it is”.

1. That verse is literally the previous chapter to the “don’t get tattoos” verse. Why did he think one was important enough to get tattooed while ignoring the other?

2. He really chose to get that tattooed?!

There was no way a conversation with this guy would go well, so I’m going to be stuck with these questions forever.

How little empathy can a human being have?

Nobody snatches defeat from the jaws of victory like a Democrat.

Or the store just got their Dasani shipment. Or they ordered twice as much because it’s so popular.

Sometimes jokes are funny as long as you don’t think about them too much.

The dystopian part is something about having a robot standing between us and human contact. I prefer texting over calling as much as the next millennial, but no one asked for them to insert AI into the process. No doubt this is an opt out “service” primarily designed to allow Apple to use all of their customers’conversations as training data.

This scenario is a comic exaggeration of the worst case, but serves as a good example of exactly what’s wrong.

Tell that to Chelsea Manning.

Sure, the US is mostly freer with information than a country that is unabashedly authoritarian. But ask Ron DeSantis what he was doing at Guantanamo, or the CIA what they did in Latin America. If you don’t think the US hides plenty from its citizens, you haven’t been paying attention.

Our Tianimen Square was Kent State, or maybe the MOVE Bombing, or all of the documented police violence against protesters and marginalized people. Fat lot of good it does that we can talk about them when nothing changes.

I think it makes more sense to hold our government to account than point out the flaws of people we don’t like.

Americans will post a meme about Tianimen Square while eating a Chiquita banana.
