Hi! I’m British, I like music (grime, garage, hip-hop, R&B, and more!). I like art, culture, history, politics, & doomscrolling memes.
Also a touch of programming :)

Change sorting to “Top 6hr”. I browse by Hot sometimes but that’s my primary sort atm
You’d be better off posting this on a Malaysian community, like [email protected]
They made a announcement here on Lemmy https://lemmy.world/post/3234363
The original was posted on discord. It was:
Removal of Piracy Communities
Earlier today, after review, we blocked and removed several communities that were providing assistance to access copyrighted/pirated material, which is currently not allowed per Rule #1 of our Code of Conduct.
The communities that were removed due to this decision were: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].
We took this action to protect lemmy.world, lemmy.world’s users, and lemmy.world staff as the material posted in those communities could be problematic for us, because of potential legal issues around copyrighted material and services that provide access to or assitance in obtaining it.
This is not entirely correct. lemmy.world hasn’t defederated from dbzer0, but it has blocked it’s largest piracy community.
I’ve heard a lot of people report this, it’s definitely an issue.
That’s also how IRC works and most chat platforms are heavily inspired by IRC, unless you use a program (bouncer) that kept you online 24/7. I assume there must be something similar for Matrix
One of many reasons people left IRC for Discord.
Official statement
lemmy.world hasn’t defedered from lemmy.dbzer0.com entirely, they’ve just blocked the piracy community.
Your instance is federated with those instances, so you see his content. Thats really all there is too it. He was able to comment since world is back up now
You’re on sh.itjust.works
This community is hosted on lemmy.world, but it doesn’t disappear if lemmy.world goes down.
You can access all your lemmy.world communities from sh.itjust.works, it doesn’t really matter if it has much locally.
Only issue is it’s hot feed seems bugged
lemmy.world is bugged right now. What I did is backed up my account subscriptions/settings and imported it over to sh.itjust.works. You may need to try a few times (it’ll tell you when it’s successful).
this isn’t a “gen Z” problem, this is a “normal people” problem. Most people just want something easy, accessible, and familiar.
