  • I go raw, I trust my instance to defederate from the worst of it, but otherwise I don’t block people, communities or anything. I also browse by all and while I subscribe to communities it’s more for the future or something, because for now there’s just not enough content to curate my feed really.

It’s all good though because I switched to other sources for my specialist content (mainly YouTube) and Lemmy is just there for my obsessive scrolling.

  • Feels good to be completely debt free on the cars. Yes it meant when my work car started showing issues, I had to review my expectations when going electric and couldn’t get the van/large car I thought I needed and we downsized to a hatch back instead, but truthfully I think that was a kick in the nuts I needed to realise I was getting pulled into a weird spiral of thinking I always need more, when really 99% of the time I’m fine in a small vehicle (and it’s so much nicer to drive and get around in). For these few times stuff won’t fit I’ll use our older ICE which is a bit more spacious, and when that’s not enough I’ll rent a van and bill it to the client!

Muesli is great but imho the ratio of satiety to calorie is way better with the cereals and a splash of milk, I get something that feels like a “meal” for like 250cal, would be much more for a bowl of muesli that doesn’t feel like I’m starving myself.

I use a nutty muesli to top quark yoghurt, that’s a great snack/dessert I get 25g protein from the quark and the muesli I just put 15/25g on top which already almost doubles the calories but does make the whole thing much nicer, it’s a daily staple for me.

Yes, I’m pretty far in the deep end of calorie control right now _

Just always check nutrition info, some of these that are presented as healthy are really not that great. In general, cereals are pure carbs pretty much so should limit the quantity to what you need in carbs, but they can also have a lot of fiber and be fairly efficient in terms of satiety to calorie ratio, I recently switched back to a small bowl in the morning for breakfast.
