Ubuntu wants to own snap, with their own proprietary store etc which runs against alternatives like Flatpak and goes against the FOS ethos
Snap is slower and worse than Flatpak (the most popular alternative) in most ways, with very few pros that will likely be caught-up-to soon too
UpNote is the best non-FOSS option
I agree, but more broadly about technology and working on it. That’s why I enjoy Lemmy and Mastodon but unfortunately my girlfriend literally cannot find anyone talking about anything she cares about on here.
Actually, Suicide Squad equal with Justice League.
Suicide Squad. No explanation needed.
You don’t care about the many other ways that not using and supporting Chromium is better, ie. not having Google’s new invasive advertising system?

The Flips also have a worse display, camera system, build quality, battery life, and just everything than either of those alternate Samsung phones.
I didn’t say folding phones are a gimmick, I said they’re fragile and bad value propositions.
I used to pirate everything when I had no money. Now that I have money I buy games - including everything I ever pirated - and I pay for a few other subscription services that are worth or nearly worth their price. I pirate anything else.
Folding phones are flimsy bits of plastic-screened crap that are just as expensive as two separate, better phone and tablet. And many apps barely work anyway.
Glyph interface is a pointless gimmick.
Under-screen cameras produce terrible images.
There are lots of reasons to hate Apple, but none of these are.
Apple uses the standard USB-PD standard for all existing wired USB-C charging, uses the QI standard for wireless, and directly contributed their magsafe technology to the next generation of the QI wireless standard, so there’s no reason to think they will make iPhone wireless charging proprietary.
It provides a massive set of CSS classes which allows you to do styling inside HTML instead of manually in CSS. It provides the benefits of consistency and reduces the need to name things which can be a big time sink. It only includes the classes that you use in the final build.
It does have the potential to significantly bloat HTML when many classes are needed for a given element though, and directly opposes the original intent that HTML defines only content while CSS defines styling.
Steve Jobs did at least actually do things. Musk just buys things and claims he did them.
All the recent stuff is him trying to whitewash his image so he isn’t remembered as the bastard he is. Unfortunately, it’s working.
Apples Notes because nothing else has the perfect amount of formatting, alongside exceptional sync.
Also Apple Mail for the same simplicity reason - Geary on Gnome is close-ish, but goes too far down the simple route. How does it not have a refresh button??
Also Logic Pro, mainly because there aren’t any fully FOSS alternatives that even attempt a full-featured DAW, let alone with Drummer etc.
I also ‘prefer’ Apple’s productivity suite over everything else, because it has by far the best UX, but I’m totally fine with LibreOffice too.
