I think we have misaligned values (you seem to put less value in individual rights), but I can respect your consistency.

Do you feel the same way about women not volunteering themselves since they don’t have a draft?
They functionally are. They are compelled to comply under the threat of violence.
The condition in which one person is owned as property by another and is under the owner’s control, especially in involuntary servitude.
It doesn’t say anything about about a military draft exception. All drafts are slavery. It doesn’t matter how noble the people enforcing it think their cause is.
Slavery is okay if you slap a patriotic label on it.
Whoever put that specific image in the article embed did it specifically because they knew it would generate this type of argument among people and therefore increase traffic to the article. Y’all got baited.
Lemmy users any time someone references anything American
It’s not about where it is, it’s about where it’s going. Tech companies love the slow burn. Chrome kept getting progressively worse and now they’re at the point where they’re blocking ad blockers at the browser level. Windows got away with nags to use MS Office products and now they’re leaping into start page ads and integrated AI shit you can’t remove. Mozilla is starting to enshittify, just like MS and Google did all those years ago.
I see no benefit to this because it will never be used instead of traditional tracking. It will just be a way for advertisers to get data from people who are blocking normal trackers and get even more data from people who aren’t.
Unusably laggy no matter what instance you use.
You’re both right. It’s possible to write code that gets linted well in Python, yes, but you’re often not working with just your code. If a library doesn’t use typing properly, not a lot to be done without a ton more effort.
Whaaaat the fuuuuuck? Kind of ironic for a libertarian to be spouting nazi shit. They either don’t know what libertarianism is or don’t know what fascism is.
It’s easy on Reddit because they have their own username generator when you sign up, but the usernames being used here are very telling. Random letters is literally the absolute bare minimum effort for randomly generating usernames. A competent software engineer could make something substantially better in an afternoon and I feel like an adversarial nation-state would be using something like a small language model trained solely on large lists of scraped usernames.
How do you track down the sheer number of them so efficiently? You could obviously dig through each one’s profile, but that wouldn’t work for hundreds or thousands.
My understanding of the situation in Ukraine is that women are free to do as they please and men are now property of the Ukrainian government.
