Just an ordinary German guy.

That one is cool and the one of Half-Life by quadrazid (segmented but still amazing)
I’m pretty sure there is some northern country that has candied pine cones sold in jars. Like small ones. I have a bottle of alpine pine liqueur (Zirbenlikör) which tastes pretty nice. So this is a maybe, I guess? Well, not the big ones, they might be too crunchy.
Just plain old regular Mint.
I wrote it here some time ago. Tried Linux Mint with the intention of finally switching from windows on my notebook. Bricked one partition that I forgot I had set to dynamic, Headphone jacks didn’t work even after fiddling around with arcane parameters in the cli. If you mainly need the command line to set your system up and stuff doesn’t work out of the box people don’t have the nerve to switch and learn all that. Love Linux, great on steamdeck, have a couple of Virtual Machines to play around with on my old Poweredge server but it’s not ready for me, the average user. That and I’ve to use windows for my cad work at my job anyways. I’ll take the downvotes but you’ll have to realize you are tech savvy people who have fun learning all that. Most people don’t.
As a German I might be able to help. It’s an old term and means ‘a whales vagina’.
I bought my last calculator for school in 2007, I think? Now I’ve got the hiper calc app which is pretty decent. Ha! Take that, math teacher “you’ll never have a calculator in youpocket all the time.” Edit: changed date, dang it’s been a while…
Exactly. Just had to buy a hundred pack of M3 screws for drives.
Yeah, no. Same reason. Garbage chinesium.
Not a dad but heavily into the Makita gang. As a German I should be into Hilti or Metabo but Makita just hits the sweetspot of quality and pricing for me.
When you accidentally order a Burro instead of a Burrito.
He’d get the special fx award for his motion graphics.
Yay, another kagi user!
Yep, all covered except for some extra stuff like getting your teeth deep-cleaned by your dentist or some premium dental prosthetics, but they usually subsidize it. Edit: also having most people enrolled in the public insurance (wealthier people have private insurance) makes this system possible, at least for now.
Well, here in Germany you’re paying (you have to) around 15% of your gross income for health insurance plus 3.4% for intensive care insurance. Your employer pays for half of those. Insurances are expensive but if you need them it’s cheaper than paying for treatment yourself. What I pearsonally find worse is the public tv and radio fee you have to pay each month (18 euros, same as netflix premium) to finance some dickwad director earning 200k+ even if you don’t watch or even have a tv/radio. Also it doesn’t matter how much you earn, the fee is the same.
Public facing. Has to be “viewable in two or less clicks”, so for example in your about page. Thats what is so spicy about this. I’ve got a YouTube channel but “luckily” not enough viewers to monetize, I’d hate to put my info out there for everyone to mess with.
Yep, stupid me copied the wrong link, updated now with the proper one.
Hmm I don’t think so? Not sure but it is this article
Yeah I meant it more like Germany doesn’t do it for the same reasons as China.
I just had to look it up, you guys really don’t have it easy with your measurements. Miles, Yard, foot, inch and nothing matches up.
