I like hearing this so it must be true

By using Lemmy we’re already filtering out certain people and opinions. I personally think that the more control we have over what we see, the better. I don’t think it’s opposing views people want to filter out. It’s the ones having those views and being dicks about it.

Unavoidably so but then again, going sideways because of a downvote is just more data on who you might want to block.

It’s not the people whose opinions I disagree with who I usually block. It’s people making snide comments like this while fishing for upvotes. I’ll reserve my attention to the ones who have something to say rather than ones just wanting to make noise.

If this mean we’d be able to see who has up- / downvoted a comment on our own and possibly on other people’s posts then I’m all for it. This would be highly useful at filtering out the people here I want nothing to do with.

In Finland we have plenty of national “flag days” every year. I don’t see people putting up flags on their porch or anything but many has flag poles on their yard and flying a Finnish flag has no racist implications to it or anything like that. It’s a traditional thing to do and especially the elderly are pretty strict about it.

In Finland they’ve been developing small scale reactors about the size of a shipping container but they’re not intented to produce electricity but instead just heat water and then push it into the district heating grid. This way the powerplant would also be much simplier to produce and maintain as well as safer due to the lower pressures and temperatures it operates at. Basically a nuclear powered kettle.

Well maybe the second worst thing

It’s simply supply exceeding demand. Finland has so much wind turbines that when it’s summer time (no need for heating) and windy then the price drops to zero but then again in the winter time when it’s cold and calm the opposite is true and we can see insane spikes in the price.

Well the water isn’t disappearing anywhere and I believe that works on salt water as well

We each have our problems but I have to admit that I haven’t heard many positive news coming from there recently.

Well, he’d still be an alleged one since he hasn’t been convicted, but yeah, there would be nothing else I’d take issue with in that. I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of the guy before, so I’ve got no partisan motivation here. “Pedophile,” like “Nazi,” is just such an extreme accusation to make against someone that I immediately assume people are being dishonest when applying these labels, and that turned out to be the case here as well. He’s already been suspected of sex trafficking minors, or at least being involved with it. I don’t see the need to lie about additional charges.

All I care about is the truth. Not liking someone doesn’t justify spreading misinformation.
