  • Low FPS isn’t the worst. I’ve played games on plenty of potatoes. Nothing is better than a buttery smooth FPS, but it’s not the end of the world.

A bad team mate happens but it’s just the way it is sometimes. Dude could be new to the game. Unless they are straight up throwing I can get over it.

Usually after the first few times, my mom would usually get the picture. It’s a little annoying but it’s usually pretty brief (unless I was in trouble)

But connection issues? You can fuck right off with that. I can’t tell you how many times my Internet just turns off in the middle of a game for no reason besides fuck you. And Internet lag is the fucking worst because, unlike the other options, you literally can’t do anything about it. Everything else you at least have some control over. Bad FPS? Lower the settings. Bad teammate? Try your best to carry and make up the difference. Mom calling you? Just don’t be rude and say it’ll take a minute. Bad Internet? Your ISP is like “lmao fuck you it’s just shitty today. Too bad we’re the only option in town.” I’ve had some ISPs that will just turn off my Internet for a few days for no reason and I have to call a technician to get it turned back on. They’re always like “oh man it was turned off for some reason I don’t know what happened.”

  • I wish, but I think they are predicting this. I live in a pretty chill and rural area. Shop lifting has never been an issue here and most people know the employees by name. Within the last couple months they have added a fuck ton of cameras and automatic brakes for all the carts. Went from barely ever having someone on the self checkout to having multiple people always watching with a top view camera on every checkout and two cameras on both sides. If you buy something too big to fit on the checkout area the machine calls an attendant over immediately even if you scanned it. It feels straight up dystopian in there and it makes it so stressful to go there. If it wasn’t the only grocery store around me within a 40 mile radius I’d go somewhere else in a heartbeat.

The employees obviously hate it too and think it’s just as fucking ridiculous as we all do. Last time I went, this high school girl looked like she was about to lose her shit as she went from checkout to checkout scanning her badge nonstop.

  • It’s just the new trend. One person starts it and has a successful video, and then everyone else follows it regardless of whether or not that was the reason for success. But I’ll take it over constantly using jump cuts every 5 seconds. That shit has been obnoxious for years. Most of the things I watch on YouTube these days are educational stuff so I don’t see either of these things that often. The only time I’m okay with the multiple angles is if they use it as like a “tangent camera” for when you know they are going off script or just expressing their opinions on what they are talking about. You know, an actual reason for two cameras instead of just “oooo look at me.”

The YouTube trend that’s been pissing me off are the YouTubers that change the thumbnail and title an hour after it’s posted because it’s not getting enough views and then make a community post talking about how it’s the best video they ever made.

  • I feel like this can be age and maturity specific as well. When I was like 14 to like 21 I was a love bomber. I had never been in a real relationship and I didn’t understand how to express myself. To my misfortune, the only thing I had to go on was movies. It’s the same kinda situation like having unrealistic expectations about sex by watching too much porn. Because of this I always went over the top thinking that’s what you were supposed to do. I didn’t understand the differences between infatuation and love until I had my first real relationship. Put a lot of things into perspective after that and I realized how much of an asshole I was being.

You should definitely know the signs and should definitely do what is listed. I’m just saying sometimes it comes from confusion and ignorance and not just malice and manipulation. The issue isn’t black and white. But at the same time, even if someone is doing it out of ignorance I still believe everything above is true.

I’m not sure what my point is besides sharing my experience. I guess that sometimes the one love bombing might just be someone that is lonely and isolated and doesn’t know what to do. But that shouldn’t change how you react to them. Boundaries are important and this can easily be a very bad situation even if they are a good person.

I spent over $4,000 on my PC a few years ago. She isn’t top of the line, but she gets the job done. I shouldn’t have to brute force my way into newer games because the optimization is so bad that my fairly decent PC can’t even get the game up to 60fps when it could play God of War at 100fps+ 2 years ago. I’m not gonna spend thousands of dollars for a new graphics card every couple years just because your game runs like shit. That’s almost as much money as I spend on my car payments.

Not optimizing games is just lazy game development. Back in the 90’s and 2000’s you HAD to make your game run well on most systems or you wouldn’t be able to sell as much as you needed to. Nowadays computers and consoles can do so much that optimization is unfortunately an afterthought.
