So in the dnsmasq.config file is this entry: ‘address=/server.local/192.168.178.10’ and using nslookup it resolves it correctly

I think its pretty cool you spend so much thought on creating a safe and fun digital environment for your children. Its important that the parents have control and overview of what the children are doing. Stay on it and stay interested how they spend their time, else they might feel neglected
I agree, but in the other Hand, everyone at framework is just a huge nerd. They all worked as engineers in big other companies before and decided its time for a change. So for me it does not really feel like profit is their sole number one priority. And like the team diacribes quite well in the comments of the post, they are just enthusiastic and want to enable motivated lads to work more closely with the developer team
To be honest i offen feel the same, just helpless and too insignificant to change it in my own. But thats the point, we are not allone! I just try to show them undenieble facts, the already very present effect of climate crisis or just statistics of how the money is distributed in our country. The thing I struggle most with them is their bad feith in people. For example many welfare programs or in the extreme the concept of unconditional income by the state gets always used to argue that people are lazy and it would not work because no one would get a job anymore, which i disagree with
Depends in how much you dont want to die
Thats dope. I suppose grandma? Do you keep them around to copy stuff over to your current project?
I have read the same, but also read it is not very true anymore, specially with dedicated server drives. I would not worried too much about it honestly
I dont think you should habe to learn to usw the terminal in order to debug your operating system. If i would switch my mom to Linux, i dont want her to have to use the terminal. So making life easier for those people would grealty improve the appeal of Linux to tech noobs. By arguing we need the terminal for Linux, we gatekeep people from trying and using Linux, if they are afraid of technology
Why is that? Are they so difficult as a company?

That kind of means that Qualcomm will open source some of their stuff, so the kernel can communicated with the CPU?
I actually thought Qualcomm was quite cool, but that’s an ass deal. On the other hand, it’s Microsoft and I kind of hate them at this point
Fedora KDE Spin also does not have a lot of the mentioned feature. I don’t think it’s about the de but more about the maintainers
Doch. Mehr hopping.
Thanks! I took a look at tailscale a while back but was turned off immediately because it requires an account at their site. Would headscale run on my own server at home?
But isnt tailscale not just a wrapper for wire guard that does not require big configuration? So I would still end up an VPN and send all my traffic over my home network?
What I am always wondering, to set up Linux until everything runs without problem, it takes quite some time for me. I use Linux for about a year regularly, and had to set it up about 4-5 times. And it almost always is a pain and I need to search online for some time until everything works. Is it getting easier the more often it’s done? Or do you create a setup script that runs everything if you reinstall the system?
What do you mean? To be honest if there are no working open source video codecs that work and are installed out of the box I am happy to use proprietary ones
I though so too, but got fed up from installing fucking video codecs for YouTube, nebula and other platforms manually. And all the configuration… then I tried Ubuntu and it just worked (untill now, got some weird things, but better than fedora so far)
Changing the domain does not change the problem sadly. I thought .local is a safe one to use
