  • The anthropologist Sarah Blaffer Hrdy has theorized that empathy and altruism are acquired in early childhood by observing when one’s caretakers show empathy towards oneself, which both gives infants a sense of security in interacting with other people and which, because babies learn through observation and pattern recognition, establishes a standard in their minds that tells them humans are supposed to be selfless and kind to one another. This theory is relevant to us because, since most of us live in decaying neoliberal hellholes, many people’s parents are too busy working to give them appropriate care during their formative years and are not rich enough to pay for people who are qualified to do so in their stead. When it comes to people whose parents are rich, the selfishness that lead to them accumulating wealth could get passed on to their children by the same method. In other words, the conditions created by capitalism could be fucking with the ability of infants to become good people later in life

  • You can refer to the picture in iridaniotter’s comment for evidence countering the assertion that Winnie the Pooh is not depicted within China in any capacity. As for your claims about Luo Daiqing, the Axios article cites a court document that is written entirely in Mandarin and a Twitter account that has been suspended, while the article on the Daily Dot relies on the Axios piece, so unless you’re able to read Mandarin, you posted a source who’s validity you and most other people here have no way of confirming because it validated what you already believed.

For the record, I am assuming that Luo was arrested and sentenced for the reason Axios alleges they were out of good faith, but your apparent inability to vet the sources you link, which is evidenced by both what I talked about above and the fact that you initially posted nothing but an almost comically transparent propaganda piece, is troubling nonetheless

  • Please understand that I’m being completely sincere when I say that, judging from your post history, you should seriously consider taking a break from the internet to deal with your anger issues. When you spend your time lashing out at other people because of the instance they use, complaining about protests that are trying to prevent the implementation of policies which contribute to climate change, and hoping that other countries get destroyed by nuclear weapons because you don’t like their leaders, the only thing you’re accomplishing is increasing your chances of getting a heart attack
