Honestly I might just go back to Reddit at this rate. Yeah, it’s giving content to a capitalist, but it also means not subjecting myself to as much transphobic and ableist abuse

Moderation on Lemmy is so miss or miss. I once got banned from an “inclusive” comm for sounding “pompous”. I have NPD, pompousness is a symptom. And it wasn’t a situation where I was causing any problems, a power tripping mod just didn’t like my tone of voice.
That would be a great solution, because while I love Typescript, I hate compiled web code. One of the coolest things about the internet is that as it’s supposed to work, you can download the source code for any website you go to. It’s open source by design. I hate closed source websites and I hate compiled website code that helps close the source it’s quite a contradiction because typescript is awesome and I recognise that compilation is the only way to get it to run on our web infrastructure. So it would be great if we could just type JavaScript and solve the contradiction that way.
I have kissed my partner on the body lots and lots of times, and I’m okay with that because the only fluids involved are mine. My partner isn’t allowed to kiss me back unless I’m really feeling strong and hardy that day, and not on the mouth. It’s allowed to bite me, though. Biting feels a lot more natural and a lot less violent.
I kissed my partner once and it was super gross. I needed to wash my mouth right away. I only did it because it made my partner happy, and I’m glad I did it because my partner was happy, but ew. I like sex much better than kissing because I know how to have sex without involving any fluids. Anyway, if a girl kissed me without consent I would be equally concerned.
It’s gross. I don’t want to make you feel insulted, so I’m going to try to be gentle with this, but if a girl drank my beer without asking I’d think that she has poor boundary recognition and that her… hygiene preferences, are incompatible with mine. It would be an immediate and massive turnoff.
I’m sure some people like that, but even if I did like it, it would be a red flag that you did it without asking.

Nah, readability is low and you can’t divide by three OR five easily. Binary has even fewer prime factors than decimal.
Meanwhile I’m bucking trends as an advocate of the dozenal metric system.
Americans are still using monarchy units while the rest of the world is on freedom units.
Fuck your decimal system. Dozenal is the most intuitive number system. Arithmetic is so much easier to learn in dozenal and you can even count higher on your hands if you use phalanges instead of fingers. Base 10 is a crap number system. It’s barely composite, it only has two prime factors.
There’s plenty of people renting out properties on airbnb all year round. And yes, they’re landlords. These are perfectly good houses someone could live in, but instead they’re used for tourism and money, and not even the kind of tourism money where the hotel owner is actually responsible for cleaning and the full cost of the property. A proper hotel is better for society than a hundred full time airbnbs.
Well, if I lived in a small town I would need to either walk or give little kids asthma to get anywhere. And seeing as I have both a conscience and the pressures of 21st century fast paced living, it’s impossible for me to live in a small town.
Also small towns don’t got any gay bars
Didn’t you have ads in the 20th century?
Well, sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio. And in magazines, and movies, and at ball games, and on buses, and milk cartons, and T-shirts, and bananas, and written on the sky… But not in dreams, no siree!
I think even one life of a trans person or Palestinian is important.
Did you tell them they were only expected to work on the assignment during the school term?
Yeah, I figured that out in high school too. I think it just irks me that different students are being graded on a different standard, subjectively speaking. The neurotypicals are being judged on their ability to learn, while the gifted kids are being judged on their ability to explain. Maybe the gifted kids wanna learn too. They’re all told their whole lives the point of school is to learn, and then they’re met with disappointing reality. We expect gifted kids to grow up so fast, and having to explain the material back to the teacher to prove they know it doesn’t help. I wish they got to spend a little longer just being kids.
Worth noting appeals can only be sent to one mod, so managing inactivity is important on that front.
