20·4 months agoI mostly agree. As someone that’s worked with both Windows and Linux for over 15 years, I think we need to ask the question of “why do we see so many incompetent admins?”
If you aren’t paying people enough to give a shit about what they are doing, they won’t.
Believe it or not, CrowdStrike’s model forces updates and people pay a lot of money for it to “handle things” for them. I had to deploy it at a previous employer about 8 years ago. It was stupid.
CrowdStrike absolutely fucked Linux in the past.
11·4 months agoNo, “people” cannot even enter a data center without walking through multiple security man traps and providing identification that gets kept at the desk while inside. A data center is not a sandwich shop.

It’s not vandalism. Vandalism is destruction of property (physically destroying it). Unplugging something that was designed to be unplugged is absolutely not vandalism.
No, at worst, it would be criminal mischief. Criminal mischief with $0 in property damage…
You’re significantly overestimating the police response to a non-vandalism.
Edit: In nyc, they don’t even finger print for an actual vandalism…
