  • My parents both openly smoked weed in front of my from a young age. I was told that as long as I was home by curfew and didn’t come home in a cop car they were fine with me doing basically whatever cuz they knew I wasn’t a complete moron (my dad worked in the school system and knew all the ACTUAL problem children really well, they hated me because of that so I never got to be a hoodlum lol), though my nugs WERE taken from me at 15 because “you were dumb enough to let us catch you with it” which is fair but I say they were out and bumming off of me without saying so lol

As for sex I got a quick talk about using a condom after my dad caught my GF and I doing it, but otherwise it was left mostly unsaid cuz my sex Ed wasnt trash

  • One time I was playing modded Skyrim when it froze/crashed at the loading screen

So I summon task manager, it hides behind the frozen game. I alt+tab and start blind keying to Skyrim to end it, been here hundreds of times, but nothing happens and the Skyrim world music STARTS???!!!

ALT+TAB to see TM and Skyrim both reporting non-responsive. Tab to Skyrim and press w, clearly hear character moving and reacting to my input

Try again to end process via ALT+F4, No dice. Try via TM, still unresponsive

I had to reboot my PC with a hard power button press that time and I still don’t fully understand what the FUCK happened

  • I recall reading somewhere that less than 5 years is the average time it takes for most individual works to earn the majority of its value, tapering off from there

    So I’d probably do a 2-tier system:

Tier 1: independent civilians. After 5 years any normal civvie can take your work and use it without your permission to do whatever they want with it

Tier 2: Companies. Life of the author. For as long as the original creator is alive no company can ever use their work without permission

  • couldn’t do much without being the slog A Realm Reborn was.

I agree with everything else you said, but not this. I’ve seen multiple people write out different mild rewrites of areas and bits of the story to make it more interesting, and it wouldn’t have been much more work to flesh out the MSQ into more than just “go here talk to person” to the extreme it was. It didn’t have to be a slog

Hell, had they just picked between the two completely different stories in this expansion (hi Stormblood critique from 2017) and kept with that for the whole epac they could have produced something far less of a slog at least, and actually really GREAT at best (just look at the content design after all)

Shit my queue just popped I’m off to fight THE BEST BEE GIRL EVERRRRR

  • Ive been downvoted to hell and back for saying that on FFXIVs reddit back in the day

They provide a literal toggle for you to bleep swear words out, yet you can get in trouble for using “fuck” in a way someone can perceive as insulting (which in some cases means using it at all)

It should be fucking illegal to penalize someone by restricting access to paid content like a video game because someone else refused to use features built into that game

Harassment and bypass? Fair game to get someone in trouble, though

Ah, so it was viewed on cable or similar? Through a service that likely has a deal to sell/share data about ads being viewed where and how?

Services communicate to each other, thats the entire point of the “your phone isn’t listening to you” thing

Even if not for nefarious reasons, the mic is always listening for the voice activation prompt for when you want it to listen and talk to you.

And that data does not go to anything other than the part dedicated to that. Rather than make a decent argument you’re just kinda showing you don’t know what you’re on about my guy
