Fun fact, these are dangerous to eat not because they are toxic but because they pose a choking hazard.

I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.
What advantages would this have over Obsidian, which is already all local unless you explicitly make it not so?
Ew, don’t associate those two ever again please.
Unraid has been so simple for me. Really pleased with it.
I’m “techy”, but not in a tech career. By that I mean I’ve always been casually interested in tech, and enjoy building my own PCs, and am usually the one people come to for tech help, even if I just end up googling it for them haha.
Got into hosting through Home Assistant and Foundry VTT.
I do use an adblocker, and I’ll keep spending my money how I please, thanks.
Yeah I often think the same.
I haven’t been running it for too long, as I just started putting this together a few months ago and took a while to decide. No issues with downtime though. Updates have been super easy with Unraid so far.
I’ve had a different experience. When I have it on video, it’ll play the music video version, and when I have it on song, it’ll play the studio version. Maybe that doesn’t work for every song, but it definitely has worked that way for me.
I don’t mind in video sponsor spots because at least the creators are being paid directly for those. Personally, I just skip em or if it’s a creator that makes them funny, I may just listen anyway.
Mate, you can’t use basically anything today then. Your car probably collects data on you. I’m not saying I love it, but life’s too short for me to cut everything trying to collect my data out of my life. Gotta pick and choose my battles.
I don’t mind paying for good services, personally.
You can toggle video or song. I actually like yt music way more because it can play pretty much anything on YT, including hours and hours of mixes you won’t find on Spotify.
My answer may not be quite as helpful for you, as you said you are a software dev and would probably pick up the more advanced options easier than me.
But for me, I was asking extremely similar questions to you a few months ago (still my only post on Lemmy, lol). I ended up trying unraid, proxmox, and truenas.
I went with unraid and have no regrets. It’s been super easy and I now have the all in one server box I’ve wanted for years.
YT premium is a good value for me and my family. Guess I’m evil.
Also had mine all as a result of infected teeth. Ditto this comment. Very fortunate to be in a place now that I can cover the costs of regular cleanings and check ups.
Wow that sounds brutal. I’ve had two and a few teeth removed, but the anesthesia has always completely numbed the area. I can’t imagine being able to feel that.
FYI, it’s not easy or simple to move to another country and is, frankly, unrealistic for most people.
