I’m gonna make some tooth brushes in two marginally different styles and sell one in rainbow and various LGBT flag patterns for the left and sell the other in camo, thin blue line flag and gun metal grey patterns for the right. Market the hell out of both of them based solely on being ideologically polarized to those each side hates. Milk everyone on both sides of their cash. And when they finally inevitably find out that they’re both produced by the same company, I’ll gamify it, posting weekly sales totals for each line and promising 20% of the profits at the end of the year get donated the a non-profit supported by the winning side. Let them fight each other by paying me. Also, no matter how overwhelming one side was actually winning, my posts would always indicate that it is a really close race, so that if just a few more people bought them, it might make a big difference.

A bit in Freedom units is 2 metric bits because it wouldn’t be freedom units without unnecessary confusion. A metric bit is equivalent to a freedom unit lil’bit, because it’s smaller than a bit. A bite (no relation to a byte) is 25 lil’bits because saying 25 ones and zeros outload is a mouthful. A hot dog is 4.2 bites or 105 lil’bits because that’s how many bites it takes me to eat a hot dog. A hamburger is 6.4 bites because it takes more bites to eat. A double with cheese is 7.8 bites. A whole hog is 233 hot dogs. A stampede is 23146 hamburgers.

I’ve never seen “outrage” about it, mostly annoyance and eye rolling. It’s douchey at best. It’s usually the least respectful people (primarily men/teenage boys, but not exclusively), usually using the term in a derogatory or dismissive way against women, and often dehumanizing or objectifying them. It’s also similar to referring to black people as “blacks”. It’s just reductive, like that’s the defining feature of them. That may not be fair. May not be how you use it. But that is the connotation of using the term in that way.

That is also true.

This would be more analogous to rock climbing if cliffs regularly and rapidly rotated 90-120 degrees and your center of mass shifted and oscillated like a fluid at the same time. A grip that works one direction does not necessarily work nearly as well when rotated or weight shifted.
