The supposed “transition” merely put some new wallpaper on top of the existing structures, with a watered down constitution voted under military threats: vote for it, or else, even going as far as staging a coup attempt so that Franco’s successor could “save the day”, become a hero, and water the new supposed democracy down even further.

Do not compare Spain to Germany. It’s extremely insulting to Germany.

Most other states tend not to celebrate their raping, murdering, and pillaging as a national holiday, though.

And there’s also the fact that most Spanish politicians are descendants of those that served under the coupist dictator Franco (who nominated the current parasite in chief’s father as his successor), and share the same political views, as does a nauseatingly high portion of the population.

Recently, some New York cops shot a couple bystanders (and another cop), one of them in the head (tragically not the cop) while trying to assassinate some guy who’d jumped a turnstile.

If any of the victims die, do you really believe the guy who just jumped a turnstile should be considered guilty of murder, while the attempted mass murderers go free because they’ve got a badge and can shoot whoever they want whenever they feel like it…?

I’m sorry, but the whole concept is indefensible, monstrous, inhumane, and profoundly revolting.

Sure, but you can also have contrast with a dark background that isn’t constantly shooting a third of the photons your screen can generate (or more, since in some screens blue pixels are the largest), and the most energetic at that, at your eyes… high contrast themes tend to have a black background (not a gray one like most dark themes) precisely as a way to maximise contrast…

(It was even worse when we sat all day in front of a fucking particle accelerator, of course; frankly, as much as I loved CRTs’ ability to work with multiple resolutions I don’t know how we didn’t all end up going blind…)

Personally, I have downloaded Borland themes for all my IDEs. I don’t use them, of course, because I’m not entirely insane and I value my eyesight too much, but I have downloaded them.
