Instead of open core I’ll call this popular approach “open skin”.

usr did originally mean user and held user data.
Pretty sure this is a bacronym
Love it. Also saves sites via SingleFile if you want to.
It is. Did that when this was first announced
https://www.home-assistant.io/green/ No idea who’s serious anymore but just adding that the green is also a thing
I’m no communist, but your argument is flawed.
Linus is not representative of the Linux community and I think the famous Stallman rant regarding GNU/Linux is actually relevant here.
The free software movement is certainly pretty left leaning, though I wouldn’t call them communist.
The issue is who decides what kind of behaviour deserves that kind of treatment.
It inevitably ends up harming the wrong people in the end.
I can understand the sentiment though.
More because it would have entailed quite the logistical conundrum as it’s a bit difficult to run a country when most of its citizens are dead.
Oh, going by the actual definition of fascism and calling fans of Mussolini fascist? How very fascist of you!
Yeah, that’s where the left-right concept kinda breaks down.
It feels wrong to say the USSR wasn’t left when you consider the many left policies they had and of course their origin.
I also agree with your idea of what left-wing should mean. I guess there’s no way to avoid complexity with topics like this.
We have an old saying in Germany, from the times of the Weimar Republic’s communists, which roughly translates to:
“Who has betrayed us? The Social Democrats”
It rhymes in German.
Oh, Lemmy has fascists now.
The left wing was cutting public services, right. Famous left wing policy. I think you’re thinking of liberals.
You’re free to be super duper racist, sexist, ableist, pretty much any kind of discrimination you want. Isn’t that enough?
I’m German and though you are correct, I’d prefer if our nation had instead learned to oppose genocide and to protect Jewish people, not a far right government purporting to speak for them
