  • I started that like 10 years ago, unfortunately I have a funky shaped head so it doesn’t look as good as it may on others but I do enjoy the maintenance on it. I can definitely tell these days it won’t grow back like it used to (much thinner on the top, edging back on the top sides). However being able to use a hair trimmer once a week myself is cheap, and less things to do while getting ready in the morning.

I can understand since society seems to put value on hair but not worrying about it (some confidence) goes a long way. I barely think about it nowadays.

Not if the place doesn’t do daylight savings time, and not all places in a timezone will do that (least in North America) so you need extra code if they do or do not. It becomes a pain after awhile when you do it in multiple projects. Technically one extra setting but it’s still a pain to make sure it’s handle properly in all cases, especially when the previous programmer decided to handle it for each case individually, but that’s a different issue.

Also when you deal with the times, say in .Net you gotta make sure it’s the proper kind of date otherwise it decides it’s a local system date and will change it to system local when run. Sure it’s all handled but there are many easy mistakes to make when working with time.

I probably didn’t even get to the real reason, I sort of picked this up on my own.

  • I’m in that range, GenX always felt older and Millennial a bit too young though I feel like I can identify with some of each but not all of either generation. I will say it’s been a cool experience experiencing technology as this generation, from some places can’t even use touch tone phones to internet everywhere(well mostly), and all the nifty stuff in between.

  • The problem with stuff like flow charts is that when you do a new feature that changes the chart then there’s another chunk of time to update that document. If you’re really interested in that all you can really do is make your own as you go through software and you’ll see usual patterns how different code areas interact. it’s not as useful as figuring it out on your own or studying design paradigms.

  • 48 hours is too long to blame on an acid trip usually (from my experience) let alone a mushroom trip. Maybe doses and potency were different but I’ve done up to 4 tabs of acid and 1/4 oz of shrooms (different trips) both with some bud smoked, and never had much effect after I slept. From acid sleeping took much longer but not over 40 hours, I wasn’t at a rave doing amphetamines or anything. Not those nights anyways.

I will say people are different and I was well down the road of experimentation by the time I did those strongest trips.

Oh forgot to add if they didn’t sleep that would really fuck someone up. I used to party for days and I made day 3 my limit for good reason, so 48 hours is start of day 3.

  • Last time I went to McDonald’s there was a mess up and I was given the cash difference, I really dunno when I’ll use it offhand. I’m also in Canada, never had a use for cash after recreational weed happened. Weird they make someone go through unknown keypressss to do cash, vending machines do cash why not just be convenient for customers? Oh right, paying people to deal with the cash, cause that’d hurt McDonald’s bottom line heh.

  • So it’s not Amazon’s responsibility to confirm the address of companies they allow to sell products on their site? I think that’s at least partially in Amazon’s domain, they can at least confirm addresses and where sellers are shipping products from compared to their return labels. It may be cost effective but if the seller doesn’t expect their shoes back why even bother? Oh cause then customers would take advantage… yeah can’t have that.

  • I didn’t do it till last minute cause I’m lazy and hate creating accounts for every little thing these days (though I definitely prefer a new account than login with Google or whatnot). However I loved Reddit is Fun and the CEO has made some less than satisfactory decisions so it was time to pull up stakes and move on, again, though 15 years since the Digg move it had it’s time, now for something else. I thought it was amusing I didn’t even realize spez was the CEO till this recent but, I just always saw him posting but never commenting so I ignored him years ago. Figure you should do more than spam links on these sites.
