I waddled onto the beach and stole found a computer to use.

Note: I’m moderating a handful of communities in more of a caretaker role. If you want to take one on, send me a message and I’ll share more info :)
Here it is
I found this (rather toxic) thread talking about turning it off. Doesn’t seem like it’s possible normally, but I’ll be curious how GRAPHENE IS handles it.

Ah it’s only available in the US too
The new version also hasn’t been around for that long, so it might face issues that will be worked out over time. We already had a post on a Lemmy android community about moisture issues
It’s actually recommended by a lot of profs now where I am, which is really nice
They overhauled the UI recently and it looks nice and modern too
I found it to be more than I needed. I still have it installed, but use localsend more often
I end up using some blog post when that happens because the forums make no sense
It could be the price of advertising, but I feel like this is one of those cameras where you need to connect it to your wifi or make an account with them
I guess it could end up being an arms race.
What if the tool was more of a toolbox, where each instance could configure it the way that they want (ex. Thresholds before something is flagged, etc.) Similar to how automod works, where the options are well known but it’s hard to tell what any particular space is running behind the scenes.
At the very least, tools like this can make it harder for silent vote manipulation even if it doesn’t stop it entirely
I think what we need is an automated solution which flags groups of accounts for suspect vote manipulation.
We appreciate the work you put into this, and I imagine it took some time to put together. That will only get harder to do if someone / some entity puts money into it.
I believe you can also look at the instance modlog and filter by community. Maybe try that?
Was it [email protected] ?
does it know how to discern genuine user input from astroturfed marketing copy in disguise?
even with upvote counts, it might be upvoted for being a funny joke response
there’s also no way to click on a user’s profile to check if the activity is genuine, or if the user is experienced in the topic they are commenting about
Would you be able to take a screenshot of the map and edit that in as the link URL? Nice thumbnails help a post be seen, and it might let people see the map when the site is getting a hug of death 😄
Then just have the website link at the top of the post
edit: It loaded for me, and I see why a screenshot wouldn’t make sense. There’s so much cool detail, thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately that seems to be the case for a handful of Foss apps. Fdroid might not be a priority for them yet
I found this
they seem to be leaning into the AI stuff, anyone try it out recently?
Thank you! That was helpful to know
I think it is since it was a similar interface across the 2 I checked, but I don’t have WhatsApp installed to check that one
Closest I can think of might be the [email protected] [email protected] communities
Thank you! This answers most of my questions
The ones you never set up, did you ever interact with them in any way? Or did they mistakenly mix your data with someone else’s (which might even be a good thing tbh)
Thanks for the update :)
