what makes you say you are not smart enough? I do not think there is a “smartness” scale to design patterns.
Honestly, building a Notion level FOSS alternative, probably in the lines of Obsidian as well, would be a fun project. Especially with the features you mentioned.
The Vapor project is a good example for what you are alluding to.
Server side swift doesn’t require a Mac, just Unix.
I generally like Android from the perspective of more availability to the ecosystem. I think there’s even an environment to run android apps easily on desktop too or any environment for that matter.
In general open source solutions can simply reach more people, which is why there’s more projects that are Android based.
🙌 I’d like to give thanks too. It’s because of open source developers, that I was able to learn computer science fundamentals at a young age, without spending a dime. Some contributors have gone out of their way mentoring a pixelated avatar that beamed countries away.
I feel it’s my duty to give back in the same way. If it weren’t for those projects/strangers back then and today I wouldn’t be able to have the skills necessary to turn my absurd thoughts into realities that I can take comfort in.
I am very thankful for Lemmy’s dev teams and this whole experiment around federation overall. As I feel reminded about what truly matters again. And why I got into engineering in the first place.
Haha thank you. Definitely trying to make it fun. Slowly tying them all the added features together in a hopefully, meaningful way.
And no problem. It’s been really fun building this so far.
Interesting, so is it like sharing the text body of a post or comment as an image? I’d be interested in adding a feature like that. It’s pretty easy to do.

It’s open source and the TestFlight link is inside with a macOS build.
Shameless plug but have been working on this for more than a month now. And it’s reaching a relatively stable state.
Available on macOS and iPad as well. Would love to hear what you think, if you have time to give it a shot.
Yeah I see what you mean about conceptualization + long term memory. I’ve always felt the process of abstracting things higher and higher to be fulfilling. Not sure why. But, it is very easy to get lost and over engineer and in turn not adding any value besides more stress, solving no real problems.
