So practical that you’ve all totally lost your moral compass. Who would write their name under a column that has active genocide support marked off? Blows mu mind that you people act like you have some sort of practical moral high ground while actively supporting genocide (voting is an act).
Yep, in my area insurance is dropping fire coverage from homes in areas with high fire risk. It’s also kinda valid on the part of the insurance companies (there are areas ripe for disaster) so policies (like requiring them to provide coverage) aren’t enough—some people are going to need to move and it will be much more equitable if it is planned.
I’ve gotten fancy (though unmatched) washers and dryers free or dirt cheap off craigslist every place I’ve lived that had hookups. Wish my current place had hookups:(
Kinda similarly, my brother was taking a drug (interferon) for treatment of a rare cancer that not many people need anymore (a better drug replaced the main use case the drug was developed for, which is different from my brother’s use case). The manufacturer discontinued the drug and noone makes it anymore so my brother and others who were relying on it simply lost access. I never knew this could happen.
Sounds like aliens settled everywhere else to me—that’s the last human settlement
Damn, glad you lived to tell the tale
Yeah traditional fast food is expensive now, much more bang for your buck going to local chinese, mexican, and indian restaurants where I am. Even a subway sandwich has inched above the prices of local sandwich places (and it’s by far the lowest quality).

Yes. Unfortunately city gov’t always reasons that the public money will be better spent if developers front the cost of building, but the developers aren’t building the kind of housing that houses the populations that need it (and in the Bay Area many of these luxury towers have very low occupancy). I wish my tax money would go directly to building affordable and dignified housing that would be managed by a public trust or similar.
I don’t know but I’ve noticed a price difference in the US too. I am usually actively avoiding the gels because they’re not vegetarian so it doesn’t bother me but it’s weird since it’s the same vitamin content like you mentioned.
My coworkers and I have to remap the network drives to our office wide file systems 2-3 times a day to access the files. This is the main file storage(some teams have moved some stuff to google drive but that doesn’t work for sensitive info).
Your comment made me wonder about ramen inflation which I couldn’t find immediately but I found an article talking about noodle sales increasing 17% from 2018 to 2021 which…. does not sound like good news.
Yeah, and for stability under capitalism it is indeed a necessity rather than a myth. We really need to wean ourselves from this market mediation (even if it’s too late to save ourselves there’s honor in the attempt).
Still drawing the line at genocide. Hate me.
Maybe the installer didn’t notice it said minimum haha
