I think people do care a lot, but this is the worst election to protest or shut down because of it. I know people always say that but in this case its true.
Either way the people of Gaza have a much better chance if Trump is decisively defeated. Again, Trump is closely aligned with Netanyahu, and has said the IDF needs to “finish the job”. I would think people would be motivated to vote against him.

Not voting or voting for Trump because of this one issue , important though it is, and allowing a christo-facist authoritarian to assume power as a result seems like a horrible irresponsible take. (Not to mention Trump would only embolden Netanyahu and his cabinet.)

In my experience this has happened most strongly with topics relating to LLMs. Ive had good discussions on the topic too, but ive also seen lots of “BOOM I just shut down your argument!!” at any mention of negative impacts LLMs may have on society.

Well, streaming has become such a pain and ordering physical media online has its own downsides thanks to inflated shipping fees. This seems like it might do okay if you had the right location. (Aka your rent isnt too high).
If you operated in an area with a lot of niche movie fans (maybe older customers or younger collectors) - if you can provided you can offer a selection of harder to find stuff, foreign and niche films, horror, any “boutique” physical media etc.
Collectable games also, being able to buy verified copies is a huge selling feature, the internet is swamped with fakes.

Im glad youre earning a decent amount thanks to tips, but holy shit. I worked in retail (cashiering, sales clerk) for years, but I can only imagine how much worse things are now given how entitled and fired up assholes seem to be. And you have to deal with them when they’re hungry!! Anyone serving food or customers face to face should be receiving hazard pay at the moment, honestly. Please keep venting here, I think it helps.

I bought a new Nokia 3310 a few years ago for this reason…
However, it didn’t work properly (because of where I live, despite the seller assuring me it would work.) Then it just died altogether after two days and I was unable to get a refund. It now lives in my drawer.
In that brief time of using it, however, I realized that I was really missing the camera and music player more than anything and this phone didn’t cut it in those departments. It had a headphone jack, and I have a huge MP3 library but the sound quality was extremely bad. And I have a kid, so I take tons of photos - but the photo quality of the 3310 was worse than a 90s webcam.
Since then I’ve considered getting another one for privacy and to be on it less, but I haven’t found a dumb phone that’s the right combination of things I tend to use.
Yes, no kidding people are more afraid of Trump. He wants to dismantle democracy and install himself and Christian facists. He wants to arrest and deport “dissidents”, citizens and non-citizens, millions of people.
Are you implying Americans are complicit in genocide if they vote against their country becoming a violent facist state? (especially when when Trump, would also 100% make things worse in Gaza. There is absolutely a better chance of a new approach with Harris than with Trump, and to say otherwise is not based in reality.
