Depression sets in pretty early, lmao, as expected. Wonder how long do I have left in me.

Sadly I quit mastodon early this year. People are very shout-y.
Lemmy has its share of jerks, but beehaw is at least is bit better, more community feeling.
For some personal reasons, I finally have access to 2 of my old guitars, a 6 string ESP Alex Skolnick signature, and a 7 string ESP Viper.
Anyway, since I’ve been playing 8 string guitar (horribly) for the past year, my hand is now so used to the wide neck that 7 string really feels small and easier to play than before.
FFFuckkk, Atsushi Sakurai, vocalist of Buck-Tick died earlier today due to brain hemorrhage
I’ve been listening to them for like 2 decades.
I was having food poisoning diarrhea for 3+ days.
Sat on the throne several times a day, drank a lot of water / isotonic drinks, took activated charcoal, and slept a bunch until my back is stiff and sore.
East Asian in Asia here. I don’t think there’s any problem with that.
I have never heard that in any negative connotations at all.
Normally the rule is to not mistaken Korean / Chinese with Japanese, but Taiwan is a different case considering how close their ties is with Japan.
we did not.
🫂 I hope you’re doing better
One of my online friends passed away earlier this year, and I just found out about it. One of her friends telegram-ed me about the news. She was a Russian who’s outspoken about the war, and also seems to be struggling against depression. I have no idea how she passed, and I can’t bear to ask.
Apparently I’m one of the people who communicated with her in the last few months of her life. I’m bad at words, so I try to send funny animal videos, and occasional hug emoji to make people feel better. I hope whatever I did could alleviate some of her sorrows in her final moments.
Maybe dull or boring?
I’ve also stopped using the word ‘dumb’ when referring to ‘stupid’. Nowadays I only use the word dumb for muteness, and I rarely even use that word anymore, mostly mute.
Nope, (very often) it’s more like a community service, a passion project, a group project. The main thing is the source is open. Sometimes it’s not funded, sometimes there’s government funding, sometimes there’s patreon, sometimes there’s special commercial license but free for personal use, etc.
It’s just the source that’s open.
Crunch time at game development, that’s probably akin to slave labor.
Edit: Yeah, what’s the terms and agreements about the AI stuff on Github? It’s still less of a slave labor, but more like straight up stealing / plagiarizing other people’s stuff. I say it’s still less of a indentured servitude, mainly because devs can just move their repository to say Gitlab. It’s still shitty that it’s being used for AI stuff (I need to start committing awful buggy code, or just straight up uploading recipes but written under .js format)
Was at the hospital earlier, my left foot was swollen until I couldn’t walk. Hyperuricimea (high uric acid leve) was the cause. Much better now, don’t worry.
I’ve been seeing some of the more mocking, belittling, shouty replies here. And sadly they got upvoted too, which also made me second guess, are these kind of behaviors acceptable?
I came to beehaw after the reddit API thingy, but I have barely replying with the users there for years because of how toxic the community could be. So, in essence I came here, because I’m searching for a safe space where people could be more warm and welcoming, and not just some race towards weird superiority complex.
Sadly, similar thing is happening to mastodon too, people are more and more behaving as if it’s twitter again, lots of shouting. I stopped posting there.
I thought mastodon and beehaw would be a turning point, where internet does not go back to 4chan, usenet, reddit era, but into something of an actual community where people help each other, but I guess that’s wrong.
So yeah, if the hostility / toxicity replies keeps on going, I think I’d also leave beehaw altogether.
Edit: Everytime when I post something like this on social media, I’m prepared for the replies to chase me out.
Awful, sadly. Somehow i feel more and more alone in this world. It’s probably a joke from the universe “you’re gonna kill yourself anyway, why don’t I make it faster and easier for you”
(Don’t reply to this, I just need to let it out, not interested in reaching out)
it’s a library / command line software to download youtube videos.
There’s more information here
Basically install the tool, and run yt-dlp [put your youtube links here without the bracket]
to download the video.
I haven’t directly used the official command line for years though, so you might want to read the documentations.
And that’s because, I wrote my own terminal-ui using their python API, for personal usage and requirements (you need to know at least some python or knowledge using the terminal to use it)
It’s hard, I’ve been trying to use peertube, but it’s still kinda lacking. Most creators are still sticking with YT
On the other hand, I download youtube videos I want to watch using yt-dlp. That’s been working well for me for the past 5 years or so.
Looking at the replies on that open ai thread, and how many of people are just going on rooting for ai companies just taking other people’s work without their consent, is alarming, also probably signals that this community might not be for me.
Thank you for everything, and sadly I think I might leave beehaw altogether.
(cue snarky replies, like bye don’t care, etc)
