The NVIDIA drivers getting removed during an update has happened to me THREE times in the last 3 months. In that same time frame I saw an LTT video where they had the same problem, and now this meme with the same problem again. What the actual heck is going on here? I just run the system update command and it says it has to uninstall the drivers due to some conflict with a system package. Then it reboots to the screen in the right image above. Im still trying different distros and configurations but it’s almost enough to make me give up. As lame as windows is I can at least expect an update not to completely brick my system (most of the time).

Wow, at the start of this comment i thought you were just being overly negative, but one by one, each point crushed me a little more. it’s so sad what’s become of this once great little product. The special power supply is a complete and total deal breaker for so many reasons. that eliminated so many use cases for me. And the lack of a standard hdmi port (or even usb c video output) is just the shtty cherry on top.

you’re always sending and receiving data, that’s why it’s illegal the whole time. That’s what the little tab that says “ratio” is measuring, the ratio of hownmuch your uploading vs downloading. Afaik it’s pretty much impossible to use p2p file sharing without participating in spreading the files

yes! all of these religions are outdated and not suitable for the world we live in now. Islam is no better or worse than any of the other abrahamic religions, (can’t really speak on the others as I’m not as familiar). it’s incredible how out of touch this community is with the average end user. I’d wager that MOST people don’t know how, much less want to set custom flags for every one of their games. Believe it or not people actually like using nice GUIs and rely on simple intuitive frontends, and it’s a massive failure on Valve’s part considering they’re the largest, most mainstream PC gaming platform.

gen x easily the worst music era (excluding hiphop/rnb which really came into it’s own during this generation)

Then: Vibrant creativity and authentic analog sound of the 60s-early 80s, all music was recorded with real instruments

Now: Availability and ease of use provided by computers/free software/internet meaning more music being made than ever before, plus algorithmic sorting providing exposure to only the best of the best the world has to offer.

if you want desktop icons just configure and install something to do that. that’s the best part about Linux is that your distro literally doesn’t matter, it’s just a good starting point to jump off and customize
