I recently got into Oingo Boingo, but the subreddit is private.

I couldn’t find a good place to discuss them, so I made one.

    “Oingo Boingo” comes from an ancient Swahili dialect which means “thinking while dancing”.

    Said Danny Elfman during an interview once. But in another interview I heard him saying it meant something completely different, something about hats.
    Danny Elfman… mischievously unreliable narrator.

    I thought they changed to Boingo a while back. Did they go back to their original names?

      in 1994 the name was shortened to simply Boingo. The band retired after a farewell concert on Halloween 1995, for which they reverted to the name Oingo Boingo
