The Israel-Gaza war is “taking away the focus” from the conflict in Ukraine, the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has admitted.

He said this was “one of the goals” of Russia, which launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

And he denied that fighting in Ukraine had reached a stalemate, despite a recent assessment to this effect by the country’s top military general.

Ukraine’s counter-offensive in the south has so far made little headway.

This has prompted fears of war fatigue among Kyiv’s Western allies, with suggestions of growing reluctance in some capitals to continue giving Ukraine advanced weapons and funds.

Maybe they should have stopped short of bullying terrorizing and straight up murdering civilians for checks notes walking home decades ago, then people might see the more sympathetically like Ukraine.

Ukraine is by no means perfect, I have known quite a few from my more religious teenage years having gone on a church trip. We had a woman named Ina attend our church for many years, and although she stopped going (same) I see her around town all the time. My point is I’ve heard stories for decades about the bad and the good. Israel has a lot of catching up to do if they want sympathy.

And also Ukraine didn’t respond to Russia invading by blowing up hospitals, schools, and Russian refugee camps in Sevastapol.

I’ve heard Israel actually wants sympathy too, and get jealous of the support given to European nations when they get hit by terror attacks or random disasters like the cathedral burning. Israel should understand they are a military base in the middle of the Muslim world. They are percieved as a colony. And seeing the amount of military aid and impunity they recieve from the Europeans and America it’s only strengthened that view.
